Design by Kaare Klint, 1936
The CHURCH CHAIR was originally design for the Grundtvigs-Church in Copenhagen. His famous architect father, Jensen-Klint, was responsible for the construction of this church. The CHURCH CHAIR is a challenge for any skilled carpenter: There are no right angles on the CHURCH CHAIR and the chair requires high accuracy in all manufactoring processes. All four pieces on the back of the chair have different angels in order to suit the human spine and the seat is envelope woven paper cordel treated with soap and wax, and thus stain resistant. A design icon from generations ago for generations to come. The CHURCH CHAIR is available with or without armrest.
