Design by Kensaku Oshiro, 2025
Based on the exclusive Baia Chair from 2021, the Japanese designer Kensaku Oshiro has created a counter stool that perfectly unites Danish and Japanese design aesthetics.
The C-shape of the signature
backrest reflects the inspiration from a bay and brings a soft contrast to the
raw frame. With the combination of aesthetics and comfort, the Baia Counter
Stool is tailored for modern interior design as an elegant element at the kitchen
island or at the cocktail cabinet.
Like the Baia Chair, the Baia Counter Stool features an advanced construction requiring a wide range of techniques and a high level of craftsmanship.
The frame is available in either chrome-plated or powder-coated steel and is constructed by using a complex welding technique. It consists of a seat frame made from flat steel and thin, bent steel tubes with a small rounding at the end of each leg. The short distance between the front legs makes space and visibility to the rear legs, creating symmetry in the design. Additionally, the frame is equipped with a footrest for added comfort.
The C-shaped backrest is available either in an upholstered version or in solid wood. The solid wood backrest is made by using a special steam-bending technology and is subsequently hand-sanded. The upholstered backrest is hand-sewn and comes in a wide range of fabric and leather options. The soft, upholstered seat provides excellent seating comfort and is available in both leather and fabric.
The diverse features of each component
are perfectly balanced and give the Baia Counter Stool an elegant lightness and
unique expression.
